How to Prepare for Your Visit

To help us make the most of your first visit, come prepared with any questions you have and information about your symptoms, medical history, and previous treatment. If you have relevant imaging, reports, or other medical records, please bring those with you.

Wear comfortable, flexible clothing that allows your therapist to easily examine and assess the area being treated. Shorts are helpful for hip, knee, or lower-leg concerns, while a tank top or sports bra is recommended for shoulder, neck, or spine conditions.

Most importantly, come ready to tell us what’s limiting you and what you want to get back to doing. Your goals help guide your evaluation and treatment plan.

What to Expect During Your First Visit

Your first visit is about more than where you hurt—it’s about understanding how your symptoms are affecting your life and what you want to get back to doing.

We’ll start by listening to your story, learning about your health, and talking through the activities, responsibilities, and goals that matter most to you.

Your Doctor of Physical Therapy will then complete a thorough, hands-on evaluation to better understand how your body is moving and identify what may be contributing to your symptoms.

Once we understand what’s going on, we’ll explain our findings in a way that makes sense, answer your questions, and create a plan built around you and your goals.

And when appropriate, we’ll begin treatment that same day—so you leave your first visit not only with a better understanding of what’s happening, but with a clear path forward and confidence in what comes next.

What to Expect During Care

Your care is built around you. Together, we’ll create a plan that considers your condition, your goals, and what works realistically within your life.

As you progress, your therapist will continually reassess how you’re moving, how you’re feeling, and how close you are to the activities you want to return to. Your treatment will evolve with you—progressing as you get stronger and adjusting when your needs change.

We’ll also give you the tools and guidance to take an active role in your recovery outside the clinic. Our goal isn’t simply to help you feel better while you’re here, but to help you build the confidence and ability to manage your health long after therapy ends.

What to Expect After Care

Finishing physical therapy doesn’t mean you’re on your own. You’ll leave with the knowledge, exercises, and strategies you need to continue moving forward and maintaining the progress you’ve made.

And our door is always open. Whether you need a periodic check-in, help with a new challenge, or simply want guidance as your goals change, we’re here when you need us.

Ultimately, we want you to leave Lonestar feeling stronger, more confident in your body, and empowered to keep moving toward better health for years to come.

Billing & Insurance

We make your experience simple – including billing. Here is how we handle the process.

Benefit Verification

Before your first visit, we’ll verify your insurance benefits and provide an estimate of what you can expect to pay for physical therapy. We want you to understand your coverage and anticipated costs before beginning care.

Copay / Coinsurance Collection

For your convenience, any copay, coinsurance, or other payment due at the time of service will be collected before your visit and applied directly to your account.

Claim Submission

After your visit, we’ll submit your claim directly to your insurance company on your behalf. Your insurance provider will then process the claim and determine your final responsibility based on your specific benefits and coverage.

Claim Review

Once your insurance company processes the claim, we’ll review it for accuracy and update your account. If there is a remaining balance or a credit due back to you, we’ll make sure you know what to expect.

Common Questions

Referral Requirements

No referral is needed to start care, though some insurance plans may require one.

In Network Health Care Plans

Medicare  |  Blue Cross Blue Shield  |  Humana  |  Tricare  |  Railroad Medicare

Have a High-Deductible Health Plan?

Using insurance isn’t always your only option. If you have a high deductible or limited physical therapy benefits, our self-pay option may provide a simple and affordable way to access care without billing your insurance.

Our team can help you understand your estimated insurance responsibility and compare it with our self-pay rates so you can choose the option that makes the most sense for you.

Don't See Your Insurance Listed?

You may still have options. Many insurance plans include out-of-network benefits that can help cover the cost of physical therapy, and some patients choose to see us out of network when it gives them greater flexibility in choosing their provider.

Our team is happy to review your benefits, explain your options, and provide an estimate of your anticipated cost before you begin care. Don’t let an insurance network be the reason you don’t explore the care that’s right for you.
