Searching for Sciatica & Nerve Pain Relief?

Lonestar Physical Therapy & Sports Performance Can Help!

Get Back to Life Without Back Pain Holding You Back

Sciatica and nerve pain can affect much more than your back. Pain, numbness, tingling, or weakness may travel into your hip, leg, foot, shoulder, arm, or hand and make sitting, walking, working, sleeping, or exercising difficult.

At Lonestar Physical Therapy & Sports Performance, we take the time to understand your symptoms, how they affect your life, and what you want to get back to doing. Your Doctor of Physical Therapy will perform a comprehensive examination to help determine what may be contributing to your symptoms and create an individualized plan to help you move better and return to the activities that matter most.

Understanding Sciatica & Nerve Pain

Nerve related symptoms can occur when a nerve becomes irritated or sensitive somewhere along its path. Depending on the nerve involved, symptoms may include pain, burning, numbness, tingling, weakness, or changes in sensation.

Sciatica commonly describes symptoms that travel from the lower back or buttock into the leg. Similar nerve related symptoms can occur from the neck into the shoulder, arm, or hand. Because the location of your symptoms does not always tell us where the problem begins, a thorough examination is important.

Your Doctor of Physical Therapy will assess your movement, mobility, strength, neurologic function, and symptom behavior to better understand what may be contributing to your symptoms.

New Patient Information

Common Sciatica & Nerve Pain Conditions

Sciatica

Sciatica commonly causes pain, numbness, tingling, or other symptoms that travel from the lower back or buttock into the leg. We evaluate your symptoms and movement to determine what may be contributing to the irritation and develop an individualized treatment plan.

Lumbar Radiculopathy

Irritation of a nerve root in the lower back can cause symptoms that travel into the hip, leg, or foot and may sometimes contribute to weakness or changes in sensation. Treatment is based on your examination findings and how your symptoms respond to movement.

Cervical Radiculopathy

Nerve irritation originating in the neck may cause pain, numbness, tingling, or weakness into the shoulder, arm, or hand. We assess both your neck and neurologic function to help determine the appropriate approach for your symptoms.

Nerve Entrapments

Nerves can become irritated or compressed at different locations throughout the body. A comprehensive examination helps us distinguish nerve related symptoms from other musculoskeletal problems and determine whether physical therapy is appropriate.
